Jiu-Jitsu International was formed as a non-profit organization, to develop Jiu-Jitsu as an Amateur Sport.
The goal of the JJI is to establish an International Sports Governing Organization that will maintain the history of Jiu-Jitsu, develop rules for competition, and set rank standards and goals for the sport.
It shall be the primary goal of the JJI to establish, recognize, and assist individual member organizations throughout the world, and work with the International Olympic Committee for inclusion of Jiu-Jitsu in the Olympic Games.
