Jiu-Jitsu International, (JJI), hereby designates, USA Jiu-Jitsu, a non-profit organization, as the official governing organization for Jiu-Jitsu in the United States of America. This recognition is extended by the Grand Masters Council of International Jiu-Jitsu. USA Jiu-Jitsu is in compliance with JJI policies as determined by the Grand Masters Council and the World Black Belt Council, an organization of Jiu-Jitsu International. It shall be the purpose of all member nations of this organization to develop the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in their respective countries, consisting of properly introducing the rules for competition and tournaments, requiring that Jiu-Jitsu International rules, regulations and guidelines are followed in regard to rank standards and to establish a system of competitions and National Championships in their respective countries. This recognition is extended on July 1, 2009 and shall be in full force and effect as long as USA Jiu-Jitsu maintains the standards and policies of Jiu-Jitsu International.
